Who doesn't love making characters in video games? Sure some delve deep within the confines of anything from cheekbone placement to the proper eye location in relation to the nose bridge but some of us just like the basics of dressing up our virtual self.
Bioware's new fantasy RPG Dragon Age: Origins now offers a pre-release tool the call the character creator (not so unique in title). You can download this tool onto your Windows PC and experiment with the in-game tools, build your character and then import the work into the retail game when it comes out. Console owners won't be able to transfer any data into their Xbox 360's or PS3's but they can still see what the game will offer them and generate ideas for when their game arrives.
I wish more developers offered these pre-release tie-ins to help hold their audience over until the game finally comes out. It's a cool idea and Will Wright's Spore offered similar program. Well go download the tool here and get started!
